Our story

Travel, the Bhutanese way

Little Bhutan began with a simple conviction: the Kingdom is best understood through the people who live in it. We are a small, Thimphu-based team of planners, guides and drivers, born and raised in these valleys, who have spent more than a decade turning first-time visitors into lifelong friends of Bhutan. We don't hand you a checklist of sights — we share the country we call home.

Everything we run is private and tailor-made — cultural journeys through the western valleys, treks from day-walks to the Snowman, and festival tours timed to the lunar calendar. We handle the visa, the Sustainable Development Fee, the flights into Paro and every detail in between, so the only thing left for you is the travelling.

Our core values

Love for Quality

We take every enquiry seriously. Our highest priority is to correspond with you directly, listen carefully to what you need, and curate an itinerary that works best for you.

Love for Community

We believe in giving back to the community in the best way we can — through active partnerships with local businesses, and by exploring and promoting previously uncharted places.

Sustainability for Self and Others

Sustainability is not new to Bhutan, nor to us. Every decision that affects our guests and our employees is made through that lens, so that we are good and glad not only today but for the years ahead.

In travellers' words

The trek was physically very challenging to us and we would not be able to complete it without the care and encouragement given to us by the excellent and knowledgeable guide Wangdi and his trekking crew.

The guide, Uguyen, and the driver, Tenzen, were excellent professionals who made me feel safe and well cared for. They also accommodated my request to meet spiritual healers during the excursion.

Our guide (Sherab) and driver (Nobu) were both perfect from start to finish. And the 3 man trekking team also made our trek so much more comfortable.
