Turkish Ambassador meets Bhutanese Prime MinisterTurkish Ambassador to Bangladesh, H.E Mehmet Vakur Erkul, called on the hon’ble Prime Minister of Bhutan Jigmi Y Thinley in National Assembly Hall on June 8.

Ambassador H.E Mehmet Vakur Erkul, who has been appointed as the special envoy of the Foreign Minister of Turkey to Bhutan, arrived in the country on June 7.

Prime Minister welcomed the Ambassador and discussed various issues of mutual interest and possible cooperation. Ambassador H.E Mehmet Vakur Erkul spoke on areas such as ICT and tourism, in which the two countries could share experiences and knowledge to benefit from each other. The two spoke on the similarities between the two countries and also, Turkey’s recent commitment to make available USD 200 million annually to LDCs, starting in 2012.

Ambassador H.E Mehmet Vakur Erkul, during his three day visit to Bhutan, met the works and human settlement minister, minister in charge of foreign affairs, foreign secretary and director general of Tourism Council of Bhutan.
