Travellers on Little Bhutan

We booked the 11 Days & 10 Nights Jumolhari Trek with cultural Tour in Western Bhutan with Little Bhutan.

The trek took us to the Jomolhari Basecamp (4100m asl), the NeyLey La Pass (4877m asl) and the YakLay La Pass (4942m asl). The trek was physically very challenging to us and we would not be able to complete it without the care and encouragement given to us by the excellent and knowledgeable guide Wangdi and his trekking crew. We were well taken care of throughout the trek by him and the crew. The views throughout the trek are breathtakingly beautiful.

This is undoubtedly the most memorable trek we have ever undertaken. Would highly recommend Little Bhutan as the staff have been very helpful and responsive right from the beginning when we enquire about the trek.

Our 10 day, 9 nite tour was incredible. Included Tiger’s Nest, and a 3 days, 2 nite trek up to 4,000 meters altitude. Also visited Paro, Thimphu, Haa Valley, and Punakha for cultural sites and some other short hikes. Our guide (Sherab) and driver (Nobu) were both perfect from start to finish. And the 3 man trekking team also made our trek so much more comfortable. Thanks to Winchen, Kille, and Karma! We highly recommend Little Bhutan and especially Sherab as guide. Lastly, thanks to Ms Sarita for arranging and modifying our itinerary multiple times to meet our trip objectives.

Exceptional service during our second trekking holiday with this agency. The 6 days Jumolhari trek was very challenging, but our patient and knowledgeable went above and beyond, helping us overcome many difficulties along the way. We had 4 day 3 night program in Bhuthan (Thimphu and Paro). We enjoyed the places, the city, the hotel, the people, the monasteries, the food….everything is remarkable. Our tour leader has shared stories and insights which still resonated to now. The Tiger Nest is awesome and the stone hot bath has given back our energy. It is such a beautiful trip to end the 2024!

I took a 10 day trip, going as far east as Bumthang.
My guide, Tashi was a very experienced and generous. She is extremely knowledgeable about the area, and fantastic at translating conversations from dzongkha for me with people we’d meet and was particularly great about pointing out photography spots. Every aspect of the trip from the accommodations to the meals, transportation and sightseeing was perfectly planned and executed. Tashi was also just fun to talk to.

Kinzong our driver was great and made me feel safe even on some of the rockslide covered roads to Bumthang. He was always in good spirits and exceptionally courteous and attentive.

And Bhutan itself is amazing. Like a Buddhist Switzerland or Iceland. So gorgeous, I’m glad I got to see so much of it.

Wonderful to take the tour with them! I recommend it to everyone! The people at the agency go to great lengths to provide the best experience. They delivered much more than I expected and really want to see you happy, they organize the trip according to most interests you. The guide Zanglay is experienced and knows in depth about local cultures and Buddhism and is always thinking about the next step of the trip, organizing everything: lunches without waiting, quick and convenient entry to the sites. Driver Deepak drives carefully on narrow English roads, in steep mountains. The car was comfortable and new, convenient for a road trip. They do everything to make you happy and get to know deeply this preserved culture that they have in in Bhutan. The guide was flexible in changing visiting interests once we dive in and want to know more. I was interested in health and we went to visit the non-invasive treatments wing at Thimpu Hospital, I was amazed how many they have in a public hospital, and that s one of many other things that was specific to my needs they were able to provide. Everyone at the company is kind and friendly! Congratulations Little Bhutan, I wish you much success and make many visitors happy!

We were looking forward to visit and discover this unknown country and our experience exceeded all our expectations. The professionalism of everyone from Little Bhutan involved in the process from booking the experience until we landed in Paro was beyond anything ever experienced.

Gembo and Kinley made our week stay in Bhutan a memorable experience from start to end. Not only we learned a lot about the rich Bhutanese culture, traditions and nature but also we had the chance to experience everything we love to do, meeting people, enjoy nature and great fun with our guides.

I chose Little Bhutan’s 7 Days & 6 Nights tour in Western Bhutan for my acquaintance with this small, but exceptional country. I was satisfied with my experience and how everything was organized. Only June is a start of the rainy season in Bhutan, so most of my week was cloudy with occasional sprinkle. But this is not a rebuke to Little Bhutan, which I would definitely recommend as the partner for your travel to the land of thunder dragon.

Bhutan has been on my bucket list for a long time. With 9 remaining countries left on my bucket list, I thought Bhutan would just be a plan that would never happen. My reservation stems from the notion that traveling to Bhutan is expensive, and for me, a Filipino citizen, obtaining a tourist visa would be difficult. However, my drive to travel and explore new places has been a lot more dominant these past few years. With that said, I researched. I found out that the requirements are pretty straightforward: scanned copies of your passport, a passport-size picture, travel insurance that will cover emergency medical expenses while you’re there, and a form you have to fill out. But you can only get a visa through an accredited tour company. So I searched online, and a tour company named Little Bhutan always came up in my readings. I got their contact details and sent them an email. They were very responsive to my emails, and they already gave me a brief of what the weather would be like and an overview of the trip itinerary. They also gave me a breakdown of the costs; they even gave a 20% discount which is a pretty good deal. So the cost of the entire trip for me already included your entire hotel stay, transportation, you will be with a guide and a driver, food, and water are also included, and entrance fee to all the sites you will visit. You also have the option for your flight to be arranged by them; I chose to book my flights as I am not yet sure of my dates…

Our visit to Bhutan was a surprise anniversary present for my wife and was extremely easy to organise because of the amazing and efficient help from Sarita, who was my contact person. We established that the best option for us was 5 days/ 4 night trip and from the moment of meeting Sherab, our guide and Deepak, our driver at the airport we knew we were going to have a great time - really warm and wonderful people.

The tour was magical and we cannot recommend Bhutan enough as a place to visit. Sherab and Deepak looked after us so well, every need was catered for and they were great and knowledgeable company. The GM, Ugyen came to meet us one evening too.

We have to say that this was one of our most memorable anniversaries, not only because it was in Bhutan but for the trouble the Little Bhutan team went to in making it special - our hotel rooms were romantically decked out, a special anniversary dinner with a lovely gift from Sherab, Deppak and the team.

We are treating like VIP’s the time we landed to Paro Airport, managing our hotels check in, luggage, down to the opening of car doors, lunch etc every single detail was looking by them. Mr Sonamji our guide from him we got more insight on Bhutan culture, religion & socio economic, his explanation towards Buddhism is excellent, with the help of Sonamji I did the trekking to Tiger Nest.

“Bike through Beauty” We are a group of 16 experienced Norwegian bikers that in May 2016 “bike through beauty” in Bhutan for 12 days: Paro – Thimphu – Punakha – Bumthang – Ura Valley – Trongsa – Gangtey, and finally conquering the Chelela pass of 4000 meters. We are thankful to Little Bhutan for excellent support and help. But the tour was much more than biking – a journey through the unique culture and Buddhist mentality of positive thinking in Bhutan. Little Bhutan managed to show us not only the tourist highlights as Tigers Nest and the Dzongs, but also schools and hospitals of particular interest for us.
