Itinerary

Day 01 Arrival: Paro - Thimphu

Driving duration: 65 km/1.5hrs
Elevation: 2350m / 7710ft

Upon reaching Thimphu, check in to the hotel, and after a brief rest we will visit the following
sites:
- Buddha Point
- National Memorial Chorten
- Centenary Farmers’ Market
- Tashichhodzong
- Explore Thimphu Town

Overnight in Thimphu

Day 02 Thimphu - Punakha Sightseeing

Driving Duration: 77 km/ 2hrs
Elevation: 1310m / 4300 ft

After a wholesome breakfast, the motorbike tour starts. Ride from your hotel to Punakha via Dochula Pass (3,088m/10,130ft).

Attractions:
- Dochu-la Pass
- Chimi Lhakhang
- Punakha Dzong
- Punakha Suspension Bridge

Day 03 Punakha - Bumthang via Trongsa

Driving Duration: 6 hrs/ 213 km
Elevation: 2800m / 9185ft

Today we start early and drive on towards the valley of Bumthang via Pele la Pass (3,300m). This lovely valley is the religious heartland of the nation and home to some of its oldest Buddhist temples and monasteries.

Visit the following places on the way:
- Chendebji Chorten
- Trongsa Dzong
- Chume weaving Centre

Day 04 Bumthang Sightseeing

Elevation: 2800m / 9185ft

Today we will spend the day with visits and hikes to some of the most important Buddhist sites of the Kingdom.

Our journey will take us to the:
- Jambay Lhakhang
- Kurje Lhakhang
- Tamshing Lhakhang
- Jakar Dzong

Overnight in Bumthang

Day 05 Bumthang - Phobjikha/Gangtey

Driving Duration: 130 km/4 hrs
Elevation: 2900m / 9510ft

Route back to Pelela Pass (alt. 3,300 m) via Gangtey.

Explore Phobjikha with the visit to the following sites:
- Gangtey Monastery
- Gangtey Nature Trail
- Black Necked Crane’s information center

Overnight in Phobjikha

Day 06 Phobjikha - Haa

Driving Duration: 195 km/4-5 hrs
Elevation: 3056m / 10026ft

After having an early breakfast, start early from Phobjikha to Haa via Wangdue Phodrang.

On the way, we will cross Chele-la pass which stands at an elevation of 3,988 meters.

After reaching check into hotel and then visit the following places:
- Lhakhang Karpo & Nagpo (White & Black Temple)
- Juneydrak Hermitage

Overnight in Haa

Day 07 Haa - Paro

Distance: 66 km/ 2 hrs
Elevation: 2250m / 7382ft

We will retrace our steps back towards Paro valley.

Upon reaching Paro valley, visit the following sites:
- Ta Dzong (National Museum)
- Rinpung Dzong (Paro Dzong)

In the evening, we will take a walk along the streets of Paro for leisure.

Day 08 Paro: Hike to Tiger's Nest Monastery

Hiking Duration: Approx. 5-6 hrs roundtrip
Elevation: 3120m / 10236ft

A day hike to Taktsang Palphug Monastery (5-6hrs/ 6-7km), Paro local sightseeing

Attractions:
- Paro Taktsang
- Perfect spot for photography
- Kyichu Lhakhang

Day 09 Departure/Exit

After a delectable breakfast, time to check out from the hotel. Leave Bhutan behind you carrying only the good memories and experiences as you are accompanied by the representative to the airport for departure.

Biking gear such as helmets is not included in the price, so please plan to bring your own riding gear.

Do I need a visa and what is the SDF?

All visitors except nationals of India do need a Bhutan visa clearance, which we arrange. The visa fee is USD 40 per person, per tour, and the Sustainable Development Fee is USD 100 per person, per night (INR 1,200 for travellers from India). Both are already included in this tour's price.
