Ta Rimochen Monastery, translating to “Footprint of the Tiger,” houses the footprints of Guru Rinpoche, who first visited Bhutan via Bumthang. These footprints, along with other bodily prints, hold deep spiritual significance for Buddhists in Bhutan. Many seek blessings by bringing their heads close to these sacred sites.
Belonging to the Nyingma sect, one of the four major sects of Buddhism, Ta Rimochen Monastery is located in the Tang Valley. It can be visited conveniently on the same day as other sites in Tang.
