Getting around Bhutan

Once the visitor has entered Bhutan, getting around is possible only by road. The cost of transportation is included in the price of your trip if you are travelling on a tourist visa.

The drive from Paro to Thimphu takes less than an hour, passing through some of the most spectacular ridges and towering hills along Wangchu river.

A road winds up below Simtokha Dzong in Thimphu into verdant pine forests bringing to view the grand Himalayan Ranges at Dochula Pass at 10, 500 feet.
