Phuentsholing Town/Jaigaon

Phuentsholing is one of the four southern Bhutanese border towns. While the border was previously free-flowing, stricter measures have been implemented post-COVID. Despite this, Bhutanese and Indians continue to visit each other’s cities, and the cultural influences are evident on both sides. In Phuentsholing, for instance, many houses lack roofs and have structures that differ significantly from those found in western and central Bhutan.
