The Royal Highland Festival
The Royal Highland Festival occurs every October, starting in 2016 to honor the birth anniversary of Gyalsey (Crown Prince) Jigme Namgyel Wangchuck and mark the 400th anniversary of Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyel. Held in the northwestern Dzongkhag of Gasa, the festival celebrates the rich heritage of the people of Gasa and the Highlander community.
