Ap Chundu Soka

The Soka (offering) occurs annually during the harvest season. The day starts before dawn at Lhakhang Karpo, the abode of the local deity, Ap Chundu, where the offering is made to appease the deity. The ceremony commences with a Chipdrel procession, halting at six distinct locations, including the historic Haa Dzong. It concludes at Jankakha, situated in the upper Haa Valley. Legend has it that the Chipdrel procession might be the longest in the country.
