Lomba is a two-day New Year festival celebrated by the people of Paro and Haa. It typically occurs in late fall, coinciding with the harvest season. During Lomba, schools and offices in Paro and Haa shut down for the two days, allowing families and communities to come together.
One of the highlights of Lomba is the preparation of local delicacies such as Hoenty (spinach and cheese dumplings) and Jomga (Bhutanese pizza), which are enjoyed during the festivities.
