Singye Dzong is one of the most important religious sites in Bhutan, holding significant religious and historical value. It was visited by Guru Rinpoche, who brought Buddhism to Bhutan and is also known as the second Buddha. The site features a meditation center that houses graduated monks for their three-year retreats. Reaching Singye Dzong requires a grueling hike that takes about three days, with an additional day needed to explore all the temples and sites. The best times to visit are during the dry seasons of October and May, as this can make the hike more manageable.
