On October 21, there were enthusiastic people near the runway of Gelephu domestic airport. There were all waiting for the 48 seat ATR-42 Drukair to land as it was the first test flight. 20 minutes after the flight took off from Paro International Airport it laded successfully at Gelephu.
The flight hovered around in the air completing three rounds before descending to the ground. This was done in order to survey the route and get the actual feel of the airport location and its surrounding.
Drukair crew members and civil aviation’s people were the first to board the test flight.
