Haa Spring Festival

Taking place every April, the Haa Spring Festival was initiated to boost tourism in Haa. Despite Bhutan opening to travelers in 1974, Haa remained largely undiscovered until it opened to tourism in 2002. This late opening has kept the valley untouched but also lagging in tourism. The festival aims to attract more visitors to this pristine region.

Festival Activities:

  • Fly fishing
  • Cycling
  • Hiking
  • Displays of traditional food such as yak cheese, butter, and locally fermented alcohol
  • Indigenous games like Degor, Khuru, and Soksum
  • Bhutanese wrestling, known as Haa Nyagoe
