Juneydrak Hermitage

Juneydrak Hermitage

Located in Katsho village, this hermitage contains a footprint of Machig Lhabdrom (1055-1132), the female Tibetan Tantric practitioner who perfected the chod ritual, where one imagines their own dismemberment as a means of ‘ego annihilation’.

The hermitage is about a 40-minute hike. From below the hermitage, a trail emerges that can take you to Katsho Goemba, offering fine views over Katsho Village.
