PemaGatshel Dzong
The new PemaGatshel Dzong, completed in 2023, is located 19 km from the old town of PemaGatshel. This nearly 10-year project has led to the relocation of administrative functions and duties to the new dzong. The larger size of the dzong accommodates a growing monastic community, while modern technologies have been installed. The completion of the dzong has also spurred the development of new residential spaces in Denchi town, reflecting a common trend of urban migration.
