Bhutanese parliamentarians on a four-day trip to India

A 13-member parliamentary delegation from Bhutan led by the National Assembly Speaker Jigme Zangpo left for New Delhi today to discuss issues of bilateral cooperation. The parliamentary delegation did so on the invitation of the Speaker of India’s Lok Sabha Meira Kumar.During the four-day visit, the parliamentarians will meet Kumar and discuss issues of bilateral parliamentary concern.The delegation will also interact with other high-ranking officials and members of Indian Parliament and is likely to call on Vice President Hamid Ansari. Further, during the visit, the delegation will be acquainted with the Indian Parliament’ committee system, budgetary process and legislative process.
