Pedestrian’s Day every Tuesday

Tuesdays have been observed as the Pedestrian day since June 5 this year. Although the government has been receiving mixed reactions on it the day still is observed as the pedestrian day.
Except for emergency services, passenger buses, vehicles of armed forces
, taxi’s depending on their number plate, and bicycles, no vehicles are allowed in Thimphu core area.

However, tour companies can get access by getting a sticker for movement from the Tourism Council of Bhutan.

The pedestrian day is being observed strictly all over Bhutan.
