Travellers from India and Bhutan no longer have to travel to obtain the Schengen Visa (short-term visa) at the German missions in India any more, but can do so much more easily with the establishment of 16 new visa application centers in India and one in Bhutan. This will help speed up the visa application process through customer-friendly services and help avoid travel expenses. In India, the Germany visa application centers are in New Delhi, Chandigarh, Jalandhar, Jaipur, Gurgaon, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pondicherry, Bengaluru and Mumbai, Goa, Pune, Ahmedabad, Cochin, Trivandrum and Kolkata. In Bhutan it is at Thimphu, the country’s capital. The new service is being run by VFS Global, the German Embassy’s contract partner.
